Our Teachers

Our Name

One who knows what is worth knowing is a “Rishi”. That which is born of a Rishi is called “Arsha”. Our Rishis were the seers of Mantras, which constitute what we commonly call as Vedas. The Vedas provide the framework which guides the Hindu in achieving material and spiritual prosperity.
The culmination of the Vedas is the Upanishads, which analyses human seeking itself and shows that the Self is complete, leading to complete cessation of seeking and insecurity.
This is the greatest Service, contribution, or “Seva” by the Rishis, not just to India, but to the entire humanity.
A “Kendram” is a space, an institution, that provides a forum to impart these teachings to the public.
Thus, “Arsha Seva Kendram” is a forum to impart the teaching and attitude of Seva as given to us by our Rishis.
Our Mission
Indic Culture was visualized by our Rishis. Our objective is to unfold this vision by teaching children, youth and adults on basic culture, traditional knowledge disciplines such as the Upanishads and rediscovering the true history of BharatVarsha. We equally engage in Seva (Service) to strengthen the country and to build leaders.
Our Objectives

The primary purpose of Arsha Seva Kendram is to teach Vedanta and Sanskrit, both being at the core of what is commonly called “Indian Culture”.  Our Vedanta teachers have undergone rigorous studies under H. H. Swami Dayananda Saraswati.  We teach the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and numerous other Vedanta texts backed by solid knowledge of Sanskrit.  We contribute to bringing back the smooth flow of traditional knowledge from one generation to the next, which was disrupted by Islamic invasions and British colonization.
The youth are the backbone and future of our country.  We conduct programs to educate youth on various topics such as Self-Identity, History of India, effects of Colonization, Purpose of and Challenges in Life, Sanatana Dharma, Sanskrit and Vision of Vedanta.  Such youth become empowered to face the future fearlessly and effectively contribute to the progress and leadership of Bhaarat.
Arsha Seva Kendram does diverse charitable activities in educational, medical, cultural and social sectors. We take pride in being part of projects which help in advancement of Indian culture, heritage and literature. We are engaged in teaching yoga and other traditional Indian knowledge disciplines. We support educational institutions and grant scholarships to deserving students from poor financial backgrounds.
ASK supports Veda Paathasalas, while reminding the Government that it immediately take responsibility to revive these institutions which are the cradle of Vedic Civilization.
No Indian should go hungry, forgo medical help or sleep without shelter.  In its own small way, Arsha Seva Kendram strives to assist People who need help. ASK promotes goshalas and organic farming.
ASK will also aid or associate with any other private non-profit or government institution to achieve these objectives.
Pujya Swamiji Dayanada Saraswati

Pujya Swami Dayanand Saraswati, embodied the vision of the Vedas. For him all that is here, without exception, was Ishwara. ‘Idam sarvam’ which comprises of the subject and object, the experiencer and the experienced...all that is here is Ishvara.
A distinguishing characteristic of Pujya Swamiji was his love, reverence, and gratitude for his Gurus, Swami Chinmayanandaji, Swami Pranavanandaji, and Swami Taranandaji. He sincerely believed that he was who he was because of the blessings of his Gurus.
Swamiji himself was a teacher, par excellence. His in-depth understanding of Vedanta combined with clarity in thoughts and expression made him an exemplary teacher to those who were seeking the wisdom of Vedanta.
As a teacher, he unfolded complex concepts with great ease, making the listener see as he sees. He deeply cared about the physical, emotional, and spiritual welfare of his students. He designed Vedanta courses by adopting a method of teaching in the traditional line of teachers. He lectured all around the world and everywhere he went, seekers of knowledge and truth flocked to him. For his disciples, he is the vision of the Vedantic scriptures in living form. This vision enables them to see life in an entirely different light: it takes them beyond a subjectivity that they had unknowingly suffered from all their life.
Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha was the brainchild of Pujya Swamiji. It comprised of 125 spiritual leaders of 12 main Hindu traditions. Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha continues to be the strong voice representing and protecting Sanaathana Dharma.
Swami Dayananda Saraswati was also an eminent speaker and an author of many life-changing books. He has spoken at various national and international forums including the United Nations Millennium Summit of World Religions in 2000.
Swamiji was a great humanitarian as well. He initiated and supported various humanitarian efforts. Among his initiatives, the ‘All India Movement for Seva’ which was established to serve people in the remote villages of India, is very significant. He encouraged the attitude of Seva among his students and disciples.
On Jan 25, 2016, Pujya Sri Swami Dayananda Saraswati was awarded the Padma Bhushan posthumously for his exemplary service to the nation in the field of spiritualism.
With the blessings of our Pujya Swamiji, we pledge to take this tradition of “spreading knowledge” and “selfless service to society” forward.
