Description

Maalatee is an intermediate-advanced Sanskrit course aimed at preparing students to take up further advanced language and grammar topics such as Sati Saptami, advanced Krudantas, and Vyanjana Sandhi. This course would prepare the students to appear for Samskrita Bharati’s Shiksha (Level-3) Examination.

What Will I Learn?

  • Usage of present active participles (शतृ) in all 7 cases
  • Usage of present passive participles (शानच्) in all 7 cases
  • Consonant sandhis (व्यञ्जन-सन्धिः)
  • Use of absolutives (सति-सप्तमी)
  • Advanced prose-order rearrangement of shlokas (अन्वयक्रमः)
  • Excerpts from Bhagavad Gita and other advanced Sanskrit literature

Hayawardh has been a student of Sanskrit for several years. He learnt conversational Sanskrit through Samskrita Bharati, where he also conducts weekly spoken Sanskrit classes. He has interests in the grammar, word etymology, and automated parsing of Sanskrit. He is also broadly interested in linguistics and Indo- European languages. He is a computer scientist by profession.
